Yoga Retreat - Mt. Shasta, California

Soak in the Sacred:
A Yoga & Nature Retreat in Mount Shasta
Postponed due to Covid-19 Fall 2021 or Summer 2022
Led by Maureen Cane, Abbie Dutterer, and Kari Jacobsen

Find yourself immersed in the beauty of Northern California as we journey to the heart of one of nature’s treasures in Mount Shasta for five days and four nights of yoga, meditation, community, and soaking up the start of summer.

Savor the solstice nestled near a flowing creek on ten acres of land, nature provides the perfect place for us to unwind, expand our yoga and meditation practices, and reconnect with what is sacred in each of us.

With over three decades of combined teaching experience, and years of friendship between them, Maureen, Abbie and Kari are excited to share their unique offerings together for the first time in such a beautiful setting.

Each day will begin with guided meditation and an active yoga practice. Afternoon and evening offerings will include excursions to local trails and lakes, forest bathing, mandala making,  restorative and yin yoga practices, yoga nidra, and a celebration of the Summer Solstice.

Our local chef, Wendy, will offer two nourishing, organic meals a day (a hearty brunch and dinner), allowing time throughout the day for you to choose your own adventure, or join other guests for coordinated activities. We will arrange a group trip to Stewart Mineral Springs for all who are interested in experiencing the baths, or you can arrange a time on your own during free time if that is preferred. Options to book bodywork sessions on site are available.

Yoga and meditation students of all levels are welcome, including absolute beginners. Classes and offerings will provide ample options to meet you where you are in your practice. We will spend our time soaking in all that we need individually as we celebrate the longest days of the year in this special space.

About the Teaching Team:

Maureen Cane is a dedicated yogi who is inspired by bold adventures, beautiful places, and strong relationships. Her path often leads to high mountains, remote deserts, and rugged coasts. She inspires her students to understand the biomechanics and alignment of their unique bodies, cultivate skills to promote optimal health and develop a balanced yoga practice. Students leave Maureen’s classes feeling relaxed, invigorated and inspired.

Abbie Dutterer believes that mindfulness can be both accessible and practical. Her warm and welcoming teaching style offers individuals a compassionate space to be themselves. Abbie is dedicated to letting students explore how yoga and meditation resonate with their unique bodies and minds. Her slow-flow yoga classes focus on the breath and smart sequencing with options for each student. Abbie has been teaching in the Bay Area for 9 years: in middle school gyms, incarceration facilities, at corporate offices, and in local yoga studios.

Kari Jacobsen just wants the whole world to relax with her. She is known for her steady guidance and calming presence, which encourages students to find and listen to their inner wisdom and enables them to practice in a way that feels dynamic and mindful. Kari embodies both science-minded knowledge and heart-centered intuition. The ease and clarity of her teaching provides a welcoming environment for students of all levels with inquiring minds and bodies. Kari has been teaching both active and restoring styles of yoga for over ten years, and also practices craniosacral therapy. A Bay Area native, Kari spends her days as a mechanical engineer specializing in train accidents.
